Fly Me to the Moon....or...at least to the MTC.

On Tuesday afternoon, Elder Javillo was joined at the Vancouver airport, with a few friends to wish him farewell.  His spirits were high as he left them behind as he knew he wouldn't be 'alone' for too long. You see,   former, Elder Perkins (now Spencer) and Elder Floyd (Michael) were there to greet and play 'tour guide' for Elder J.  What a wonderful reunion and Spencer was especially grateful to sharpen up on his Tagalog.  They did a little sightseeing and catching up.  Then, the true moment came, as they dropped him off at the MTC.  Hoorah for Zion Elder Javillo.  We'll miss you but can hardly wait to hear about all of your adventures.

Last FHE for Elder J.

On Monday, January 9th, Tee Jay was set apart to serve as a missionary, by President Bennie Soll.  He was accompanied by his Father and Mother and Aunt who enjoyed sharing these tender moments together.  Afterwards, as seems customary now, he came over to the Sloans where he met the rest of 'the gang'.  We sang, shared memories, ate and shed a few tears.  Hoorah for Zion Elder Javillo.  Until we meet again....

Farewell for Elder Javillo

On Sunday, January 8th, 2012 Elder Javillo enjoyed his last Sunday in Surrey, British Columbia Canada.  Many, many friends came to wish Tee Jay farewell for the last time.  It was a wonderful evening.

"This is a great time to be serving a mission"

Elder Scarlett sounded very excited and upbeat in his latest letter:
"This is a time for joy, love, charity.  Remember God's love for you and try to show that love to everyone. My companion and I are working super hard to help people here.  This is a great time to be serving a mission and to serve people everyday.  Seen people's lives change is a testimony builder that God does live and love us all.  "Be thou an example of the believers.  Do all you can to serve people.  Love them with everything you've got."

Elder Behira in Orangeville

Sounds like Elder Behira is doing really well in his new area.  Here's a 'piece' of his last letter:
"Orangeville is way peaceful..it's beautiful.  It's not flat..some hills.  Ward is way beautiful, built in 2002.  The members love us and feed us missionaries.  And let me tell you about our Bishop here.  He is a very young Bishop.  He is 'excited, enthusiastic, happy, confident and happy man.  I've never seen a person like this!!! Wow!  He looks like Jim Carey though but, he is awesome.  There are alot of humble people in this area.  I'm grateful I will be spending Christmas here in Orangeville. Merry Christmas.  Pray for me.  Love Y'all."
