Elder Jeonghoon Lee in Toronto
Elder Jeongwoo Lee
Elder Jeongwoo Lee is currently serving in the Edmonton, Alberta mission and loving every minute of it.
Elder Scarlett and Elder Lee Reunited in the Mission Field
Elder Scarlett and Elder Jeongwoo Lee were so excited to be reunited, in the mission field, recently. They were thrilled to see each other again. Now, if we could just find Sister Wotherspoon, and have her join them in a picture, that would be perfect!!!
Elder Scarlett 'in a distant and lonely land'
Elder Scarlett is finally in Edmonton and has experienced quite a 'culture' shock.
"The area am in is called Edson. It is soo cold and lonely here omg this is one of the hardest area in the world. Am doing everything i can to get some new investigators. Serving a mission is hard, the weather kills me and the culture is so weird. Am just working hard and trying to do my best, keep praying for me and I hope all goes well. I miss everyone so much, but the Lord works needs to go on so am just doing my best. God is love."
So, there you have it! Elder Scarlett is in a 'distant and lonely land.' The funny part is, he hasn't even experienced his first snowfall yet! Boy, is he ever in for a real treat. We love you Elder Scarlett! Hoorah for Zion!!

Elder Behira Says "Mission is Hard-Fun!"
Elder Behira continues to enjoy his time serving in Kitchener, Waterloo area. "Geez, time is going so fast. I've been here for almost 6 months. We had a baptism on October 30th for a young adult named Jessica. She is an amazing person and golden. She was excited and prepared!!"
Here is a picture of the baptism. He sure looks happy! Hoorah for Zion Elder Behira!

Elder Udani is 'going home'...
On Halloween night, October 31, 2011, Romney avoided all of the scary ghosts and goblins and found a 'little piece of heaven' as he gathered everyone, who could make it, for an emergency FHE. Jez led us in 'Called to Serve' before he nervously and slowly opened his letter and began to read. Then, just at the exciting part, he stopped and looked up at everyone in shock. We all assumed that his 'dream of being sent to Germany' was coming to fruition, but he surprised us all as continued to read on. Romney was called to serve in the Baguio, Philippines Mission and will report to the MTC on February 1st. We are so excited for him and he has come to know that this really is the place where the Lord wants him to go. We are all so proud of him and know that he will be a wonderful missionary. Hoorah for Zion Elder Udani!
I Love to See the Temple
"I love to see the Temple, I'm going there someday....."
Last Saturday, Allison was able to attend the temple for the first time. It was a wonderful day for everyone!!

Elder Ultra is loving every minute....
Elder Ultra continues to enjoy his mission. He says: "I love my mission so far and will always love it. I love the weather. I love the food. I love the members. I love my companions and I love the work." The thing that bothers him the most is that 'this will all come to an end one day'. Elder Ultra shares a new discovery. "I have come to realize that the things we do for ourselves are gone when we are gone. But, the things we do for others remain as our legacy. That's why I love being a missionary." Keep up the great work Elder Ultra!!
**Please note that Elder Ultra has a new mission address. Check out the address tab at the top of the home page to send him a letter.

"Called to Serve--Sister Sloan"
On Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 Allison received her long awaited white envelope in the mail. She happened to be off that morning and was the only one at home when she heard a loud 'plop' through the mailbox. She rushed over to find what she had been waiting for. Again it was that glorious, white envelope, laying there on the landing. Unfortunately, she was working the afternoon/evening shift and so she had to wait until 9:30pm when she rushed home to greet family members eagerly awaiting. The call was finally revealed as Allison nervously tore open the envelope and began to read out her destination: Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah Mission. Wow. She doesn't get to go to Europe, but Europe will come to her. She is thrilled and so excited to serve the Lord and make a difference in many, many people's lives. Hoorah for Zion Ally!!!

A New Elder Amongst Us
On Tuesday August 30th, 2011 Tee-Jay Javillo received his mission call in the mail. His parents opened it right away with the promise that they would not tell him where he was called to serve. Tee-Jay had previously committed to open his call at the Sloans home and with his FHE family. So, an emergency FHE was called and everyone gathered together on Wednesday the 31st at 9:00pm. As we waited for the delinquent Romney the anticipation and excitement grew amongst all in attendance. Finally the big moment arrived and Tee-Jay revealed the call... to the Philippines. How exciting! We were all thrilled. Elder Javillo reports to the MTC on January 11, 2012. What a blessing it will be to return to his homeland and teach his people. Congratulations! We are all so happy for you. Time to brush up on your Tagalog.

Elder Scarlett's 'Test of Faith'
Just to update all of you. ELder Scarlett was to have left from the MTC (Provo, Utah) today to go to Edmonton but his plans have been 'thwarted' once again. It has been discovered that he will require surgery, this Thursday, on his knee due to a previous soccer injury. As a result of this surgery, he will be required to remain in Provo for two more months to heal. Although this seems like just another 'setback' Elder Scarlett remains optomistic and happy. He is cheerful and grateful and is not letting this become a burden or frustration.
Perhaps a lot of letters of support and love would be good around now. Please send emails (through Dear Elder.com) OR send mail direct to his MTC address listed on the blog. Elder Orandy Orlando Scarlett.

Elder Ultra Goes for the Cut
As with all missionaries, the 'tie' becomes symbolic of many things. Perhaps the 'skinny' tie represents following the straight and 'narrow' path to God. Come on. You've got to give me credit for trying!! Still looking good Elder Ultra!!

Elder Scarlett's first Letter from the field
Because of Visa problems, Elder Scarlett was unable to go to the MTC on the date he was scheduled to arrive. Instead, he was set apart on Friday, June 24, 2011 early in the morning, by President Bennie Soll. Then, he was accompanied by two Elders, from the Vancouver mission office, to the Ferry where he arrived in Victoria to begin his 'first transfer' in the mission field.
Elder Scarlett will be heading to the MTC at the beginning of August and then he will head out to Edmonton to serve the rest of his mission. Elder Scarlett Writes:
And the aSpirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of bwisdom and cunderstanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
2 Nephi 21vs2.........My biggest fear was not going to the mtc and start my mission as basically a newbe, i thought i wouldn't know what to say are teach people.
I never knew that i could teach with the spirit this much, everyday i learn more and more. I learn how to overcome weakness and be strong in the power of the lord.
It doesn't matter if you go to the mtc are not,if you let the lord be your leader and the holy ghost your teacher then who is man to give you knowledge when all things come
from God and is manifest to us through the holy ghost. the gospel is so real its right in front of us,we need to make use of it before its too late.I don't have much to say am not a man of writing
but am a man of teaching lol! Sic Luceat Lux let- your light so shine!!!!!!!!!!! I love everyone i miss everyone, but i know the lord works need to be done.
May the lord bless you all.. God is Love. Till we meet.

MTC IS AWESOME!! says Elder Behira
We received our first letter from Elder Behira along with pictures. Here's a brief line from his letter:
"I am so happy that I am here in the MTC. Some people call this sacrifice, but for me, it's an 'Amazing Blessing'. This is the place where you feel the spirit all the time especially when we sing the 'hymns'. The people here are always smiling all the time, humble, kind, etc. etc. I am always so busy here in the MTC. Plss write more letters. It feels good when I receive letters and my companions don't. haha Just kidding. All we learn about here is the atonement. It is all people need. I love you guys. Hold tight to the rod. Pray and find out who you really are. Love, Elder Behira
Keep up the great work Elder!!!

"Happiest I've Ever Been" exclaims Elder Ultra
"I miss rice, sushi, bubble tea, pho, pandesal, the Canucks, Pacquiao, all our dine outs and our shenanigans. But I know I am suppose to miss all of those. This is the happiest I have ever been because I know that this is where I am supposed to be. I love the gospel and I want to tell everyone." ~ Elder Ken Ultra, May 16 2011. :)
